Shetland Sheepdog

This breed probably comes from the same stock as the Collie and Bearded Collie, but isolation in the remote Shetland Islands kept the breed pure. The "Shelti" resembles a rough Collie in miniature, but is a separate breed. A small, alert, rough-coated, and long-haired working dog, the Sheltie is rarely used for herding today, but retains the instincts of a watchdog.
